Mike has a broad range of experience in the Internet industry over the past 20 years. He currently works for Google, in their Telecoms Strategic Relationships team.
His first role at Google was as their first peering coordinator located in Europe ten years ago. Over time this evolved to managing Google’s content delivery strategy, and overall relationships with telecoms operators. Mike is also involved in public policy issues related to the Open Internet, peering, interconnection and content delivery.
Previous to Google Mike has been CTO at the VoIP company Callserve, Technical Director at Onyx Internet (also a LINX member), worked with Manx Telecom on helping them establish their LINX presence, and in the late 1990s he founded, grew, and sold a web hosting and colocation business.
Mike has an MA in Engineering & Computer Science from Cambridge University, and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
