IXManchester 8 meeting webcast offers remote participation for LINX members

The IXManchester 8 meeting at Manchester Central Convention Complex is to be webcast thus offering remote participation for LINX members via the LINX website

We are now just a few days away from IXManchester 8 which takes place on Wednesday 19th April 2017. Registration has now closed to attend the event in person but we are pleased to announce that members with a log-in to the LINX website will be able to watch event proceedings remotely through a dedicated webcast.

The stream can be accessed by members via an authenticated link on the IXManchester 8 event page on the day of the meeting.

The extended programme is introduced by LINX Chief Marketing Officer, Kurtis Lindqvist and presentation topics will include the latest operational and technical developments at the Manchester exchange.

Local Market Developments including data centre news and events will be covered by Lizzi Long of LDeX and Craig Aspey will give a technical perspective on the merger between Metronet UK and M247. Thomas Mangin of Exanet will also talk about his experience of working with Akamai to improve HTTP(S) traffic flows.

There are other member talks on the agenda too. Charlie Boisseau will speak on behalf of Fluency Communications on dark fibre access at Openreach while B4RN's Tom Rigg will cover their increased capacity into Manchester and the opportunity for providers to take wavelengths from B4RN to Scotland.

Cyber-security issues will be addressed by LINX's Dan Smith while Jo Fereday will officially launch a new LINX Bi-Directional Optical Transceivers product, initially only available at IXManchester.

Finally a panel and Q&A session on a range of topics has also been arranged chaired by IXManchester Steering Committee Chairman, Mat Hattersley. Contributors to include Tom Hill (Bytemark), James Blessing (JISC), Chris Northwood (Manchester TechNights) plus others to be confirmed.

There have been 70 registrants for this event. If you are a LINX member and were unable to make it in person why not make time to tune in.
