Network Topology

Overview of the network topology of the peering LANs

IXScotland

After two successful consultation meetings, plans to build a Internet exchange in Scotland were given the go ahead by LINX in 2013. The Pulsant South Gyle data centre (previously called Scolocate) was selected as a natural starting point for this new IXP. The latest hardware from Extreme Networks enables all the advance features expected from a modern exchange. Networks are free to connect exclusively if they wish and have full LINX membership and voting rights.

Work is currently in progress to establish a second site near Glasgow.

With over 780 members connecting from over 77 different countries worldwide, LINX members have access to direct routes from a large number of diverse international peering partners.
