Microsoft publishes “E-mail Caller ID” as an IETF Internet Draft

Microsoft has published the spec for its proposed “Caller ID for E-mail” protocol as an IETF Internet Draft..

An Internet Draft does not constitute a recognised standard of any kind; a very large number of Internet Drafts never become RFCs (or STDs). However, publishing as an Internet Draft is the first step to becoming an RFC, and this signifies Microsoft’s intention to push this within the open standards community rather than try to retain control over it or advantage through it.

With over 770 members connecting from over 76 different countries worldwide, LINX members have access to direct routes from a large number of diverse international peering partners.
