Ofcom announces fixed wireless broadband spectrum rules

Ofcom has announced the release of new spectrum for broadband fixed wireless access, in the 71-76GHz and 81-86GHz bands.  The licensing regime will be “lightly licensed”, with an unlimited number of non-exclusive national licenses and no license fee. Within this individual point-to-point links will be subject to a £50 link registration charge.

Licensing will being in spring 2007.
