RIPE74 has started. The meeting brings together internet service providers, network providers and other interested parties from around the world to discuss and liaise on technical issues that affect the internet community. The first RIPE meeting took place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1989 following the growth of IP connections in Europe. RIPE comes from French and stands for Reseaux IP Europeens which translates into English as "European IP networks". Since 1989, RIPE meetings have been held at least once in their host city. RIPE74 is taking place in Budapest, Hungary at the InterContinental Budapest. Issues being discussed range from everything from just how anonymous the Tor browser is to the Internet of Things (IoT). It has seen participants come from all over the world, ranging from Germany to the United States. RIPE74 is taking place between the 8 May 2017 to the 12 May 2017.
