Access to the LINX Interconnection Hubs – a Key Feature for Data Centres

IP House Data Centre are an independently owned facility located to the East of central London in the data hub that is London Docklands, providing dedicated services including colocation for both small and medium enterprises, through to corporate and multinational clientele.

But how important are the routes to an Internet Exchange Point (IXP) like LINX for the customers they serve there?

The London Internet Exchange (LINX) maintain two, independently interconnected platforms across London, LON1 and LON2. These networks have a physical presence in 17 data centre locations and are fully maintained by LINX.

IP House offer a far-reaching set of services, such as full project engagement and design of infrastructure & application colocation hosting, at all stages of the lifecycle.  They explain more about being a London based data centre without this physical presence from LINX, and how they still find immense value from offering customers a one hop access to the IXP and it’s 850+ strong global community of networks.

Vinit Patni, Managing Partner for IP House says;

“We specialise in dev, test & DR environment setup and testing and management and we bring a unique and very positive presence to the data centre colocation experience. We take pride in being able to include access to LINX as a service for our customer base. The services LINX offer in London including unique peers are of value and we want to be able to provide our customers with routes there.”

“We are fortunate enough to have a number of LINX ConneXions Reseller Partners in our facility who provide routes from IP House to LINX’s interconnection platforms in London where they can peer and access additional services.”

Stelia are just one of these LINX partners. Stelia are a high-capacity interconnect platform, connecting service providers to workloads over their growing fabric marketplace.

Dan Scarbrough, Chief Revenue Officer of Stelia says;

“LINX are a key global strategic partner and a core part of our service marketplace in edge and emerging data centres. We are delighted to work alongside IP House to enable LINX interconnection access at this facility.”

Jennifer Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer for LINX comments;

“Our unified efforts with all of our valued partners is fundamentally aimed at enhancing internet connectivity within the UK and beyond. We appreciate that IP House recognizes the value that LINX brings to their clientele. It’s great to see how they have established robust partnerships with our ConneXion Reseller Partners, enabling them to provide effective routes to our interconnection points in London.”

LINX in London offer a range of interconnection services from peering, (including unique network peers only found at LINX), access to cloud services, closed user groups and the Microsoft Peering Service (MAPS).
