Secure point-to-point connections to other LINX members, running over the port you already use for peering.
Private VLAN at LINX
A Private VLAN is a Layer 2 point-to-point link between you and another LINX member, carried across our infrastructure. Both sides use a multi-service port, so you can run public peering and private interconnection over the same physical connection instead of ordering a separate cross connect for each relationship.

Public peering and private interconnection run over the same multi-service port, so a new relationship does not mean a new cross connect.
Layer 2, point to point
A direct link between you and one other member, isolated from the peering LAN and from everyone else on the exchange.
Order in the portal
Configuration is semi-automated through the member portal, with no long-term contract and quick activation.

What to expect
Technical specification
Layer 2 point-to-point services over 802.1Q tagged interfaces, on dedicated or existing 10GE or 100GE ports. Optional QinQ support, with a maximum MTU of 1,500 bytes.
Both sides need a multi-service port
You and the member you are connecting to both need ports capable of supporting Private VLAN. Multi-service ports are charged at the same rate as regular ports.
Getting started
Order a new port for the purpose, or convert an existing port to support Private VLAN. Service statistics are available in the member portal.
