Megaport Becomes LINX Diamond Partner as Demand for IX Services Increase

Megaport, a leading global Network as a Service (NaaS) provider, has proudly announced it has become a Diamond Partner of the London Internet Exchange (LINX), marking a significant milestone and growth for the partnership.

As a longstanding member network of the LINX community, Megaport expanded into reselling peering services at LINX in London back in 2015. The global Network as a Service (NaaS) provider enables customers to build secure, scalable, and agile networks in just a few clicks, accessing global endpoints and creating private paths in minutes.

The LINX ConneXions Reseller Partnership allows certain members access to a reseller port where they can then provide specific peering services and more at LINX locations, to their global customer base.

This partner programme is designed to allow all networks with access to any LINX global hubs in the UK, US and Africa, if the end user doesn’t have a physical presence there but has a need to meet networks or for services. Diamond status is the ultimate partner tier at LINX and reflects the amount of capacity and also locations being resold.

“We’re thrilled to achieve LINX Diamond Partner status, and it shows our steadfast commitment to empowering our customers with seamless and agile IX solutions,” said Michael Reid, CEO of Megaport.

“By having LINX as a service provider on our global IX ecosystem, users can leverage its global hubs to build carrier-grade peering networks, all via a simple platform.”

LINX, one of the world’s largest Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), plays a pivotal role in the global internet and connectivity scene, facilitating high-performance interconnection among networks, content providers, ISPs and cloud service providers alike.

Jennifer Holmes, CCO for LINX says;

“Our reseller partners are a key component to the LINX strategy, and in Megaport’s case providing transport for networks to our London interconnection hub for peering and also the Microsoft Azure Peering Service, available for partners to offer their customers too. We are proud to recognise Megaport’s achievements and look forward to continuing our successful partnership to empower businesses with enhanced network connectivity.”

Inga and Nurani from the LINX team meet with the Megport team at GPF2024 in Puerto Rico.
