LINX Welcome Reseller Port Upgrades as Increase in Demand for LATAM to London Routes Continue

Global operator Angola Cables, a registered ConneXions reseller partner of LINX has recently increased their port capacity to London from 10GE to 100GE.

Global networks have the ability to access LINX in London, a key hub for interconnection, via ConneXions’ partner Angola Cables from Africa and Brazil. This remote peering service makes it easier for networks to access the LINX locations should they not have their own bandwidth capabilities in place.

The port upgrade at LINX in London is expected to the increase traffic from South America considerably. Content networks in particular are realising the benefits of keeping their traffic closer to the end user. This has many benefits including reduced latency, improved overall experience for the end user – and with less buffering offers a more cost effective for the network concerned.

LINX Network News

LINX recently began a technical blog on the LINX website. In this section we cover some of the background developments on the LINX network, specifically on LON2 and route server automation as well as the recent completion of the RPKI project. Take a look!

  • LINX Complete RPKI Project
    • LINX have recently completed the roll out of RPKI framework for all of their LINX route server locations in the UK and US. LINX is one of a handful of IXPs and networks globally who have now adopted this additional security layer for their members and customers
  • Route Server Automation
    • The LINX Software team have designed and built a dedicated automation platform for LINX route servers.  LINX route servers provide members direct access to the prefixes of any other member using them, sparing them the need to set up individual BGP sessions
  • LON2 Automation Development Project
    • LINX and IP Infusion have made considerable effort to provide the same level of automation currently offered in LON1. To speed up and optimise as the collaboration LINX have implemented a shared automated testing environment to validate OcNOS™ integration readiness with LINX Network Configuration Automation (NCA) platform
