The London Internet Exchange (LINX) is excited to announce a new way for networks to connect to their interconnection hub in London.
LINX will be going live in the coming weeks on the Equinix Fabric, enabling potential new networks and existing Equinix customers to connect to LINX and access peering services and more, at the click of a button.
This integration marks the first in a series of strategic expansion of partnerships with leading data centres, designed to increase the reach of LINX services.
By leveraging the Equinix Fabric on-demand connectivity, networks can now access LINX’s LON1 network in London without the need for a physical presence, simplifying the process and accelerating time to market.
Accessing LINX in London does not only mean a central meeting hub for peering alone. Additional services will also be available over the LINX connection including the exclusive Microsoft Azure Peering Service (MAPS), a product designed to improve performance of Teams, Office365 and more.
Mike Hellers, Product Development Manager at LINX, commented:
“This development opens the door for even more networks to access LINX services in London quickly and efficiently. By removing the requirement for a physical presence and extending our potential reach, we’re making peering more accessible and flexible than ever before.”
The LON1 network in London is a key global interconnection hub with over 760 networks meeting there. Equinix customers can now seamlessly connect into the LINX ecosystem, reaching those unique ASNs only present at LINX in London, benefiting from enhanced network performance, reduced latency, and improved resilience.
