LINX Joins Indatel as Affiliate to Expand Interconnection Opportunities for Rural Broadband Providers Across the U.S.

The London Internet Exchange (LINX) is proud to announce its new affiliation with INDATEL, a network of over 900 rural and regional broadband providers across the United States. This partnership marks a significant step in LINX’s mission to extend high-performance, cost-effective peering and interconnection services from LINX NoVA directly to access networks across the United States, especially those in regions traditionally overlooked by major providers.

“We are thrilled to have LINX join the INDATEL family as a trusted supplier affiliate partner,” said Shiloh Vance, Director of Marketing, INDATEL Services. “This relationship is critical for our organization and our membership to continue our path of growth and investing in the future of connectivity. LINX will enhance our ability to support rural and regional providers with more direct access to global content, cloud platforms, and critical infrastructure.”

LINX NoVA, located in Northern Virginia, is an interconnected fabric located in the data center capital of the U.S. Networks can meet at the LINX hub via a single cross-connect from any of the five data center access points and consume peering services and more for ultimate network performance. LINX’s data center neutrality provides members with diverse options for connectivity and fosters resilience in network architecture, which is essential for providers seeking robust and flexible solutions.

As an Affiliate of Indatel, LINX will work closely with its community to promote the value of connecting to an IXP. LINX NoVA offers a neutral, member-owned platform for efficient, low-latency interconnection, enabling networks to exchange traffic directly and cost-effectively. This is especially critical for rural providers seeking to improve performance, reduce transit costs, and enhance the digital experience for their customers.

“We are excited to join INDATEL as an Affiliate and support their mission to empower rural broadband networks,” said Inga Turner, Head of Existing Business for LINX and Champion for LINX NoVA. “We believe this partnership will open new doors for rural ISPs to access global content and cloud providers more efficiently and look forward to working together.”

Significant traffic growth was reported last year at LINX NoVA and comes after the success of recent infrastructure enhancements, optimizing interconnection services and the addition of new local and global access networks.

“We are facilitating many capacity increases for our existing members at LINX NoVA following the four-fold increase in traffic levels last year,” Turner said. “This highlights the increase in demand for regional interconnection and keeping traffic local.”

This increased traffic volumes also highlights scalability and preparedness for future demands, as the platform is not only adept at meeting current needs but is also strategically positioned to handle ongoing growth, making it a robust, future-proof solution for its members and the broader internet community.

The LINX team will attend the INDATEL Symposium July 22-24 in Kansas City, Missouri, to further communicate its affiliation and services.
