Our London Interconnection Hubs

LON1: the original and largest LINX exchange
LON1 is a high-performance Ethernet switching fabric built on Juniper Networks hardware and accessible from 17 data centre locations across the city, including Equinix, Digital Realty and Telehouse.
Connecting to LON1 gets you access to:

  • Direct access to a large and established peering community
  • Scalable port options from 10GE to 400GE
  • The full suite of LINX interconnection services including: Peering, Cloud Connect, MAPS and Private VLAN
  • Connectivity at the heart of London’s digital ecosystem

LON2: resilient, redundant and ready for growth
Launched in 2018, LON2 is diverse from LON1, built on a leaf-spine topology using EVPN over VXLAN. Designed to eliminate single points of failure, it reroutes traffic automatically and complements LON1 for networks where uptime is non-negotiable.
Connecting to LON2 gets you access to:

  • Leaf-spine architecture with no single point of failure
  • Disaggregated design for flexibility and faster upgrades
  • Accessible from the same 17 data centres as LON1
  • Ideal for members seeking dual LAN resilience

LINX Metro Resilience

Replicate a service across LON1 and LON2 for complete resilience across both London interconnection hubs, and get 60% off that service at LON2.* Two diverse technologies, one trusted LINX presence.

How it works

01Take a service at LON1, then add the same service at LON2.
02Your LON2 service qualifies for a 60% discount.
03Port access and peering are assessed separately, so you can replicate one or both.

A member connects 100GE ports at both sites, with different peering at each

Service LON1 LON2 LON2 discount
Port access 100GE 100GE 60% off
Peering 100Gbps 50Gbps Standard rate

Why Connect to LINX in London

London gives you two separate high-performance interconnection hubs, LON1 and LON2, accessible from 17 data centre locations across the city. Designed for networks that demand performance, choice and resilience.

Connect with hundreds of networks
Direct access across a broad range of industries, regions and network types from a single connection.

Flexible port options
From 10GE through to 400GE, so you can scale your connection as your traffic grows.

Redundancy across two sites
Dual LAN architecture across LON1 and LON2 gives you genuine path diversity and resilience.

LINX Metro Resilience
Run the same services across LON1 and LON2 and get 60% off that service at LON2.

Lower latency
