Our Services
Peering
Peering is when two or more networks connect directly to exchange internet traffic, making it faster and more efficient, reducing latency, and improving network reliability and speed.
At LINX, members can connect with hundreds of other networks through a trusted, high-performance platform. This direct interconnection improves network performance, enables greater control over traffic flows, and makes it simple to expand connectivity as demand grows.

Private VLAN
Private VLAN lets you securely separate and manage multiple network connections over a single physical port, helping to protect sensitive data and ensure efficient network management.
LINX's Private VLAN service offers a flexible, carrier-neutral platform that allows members to maintain private, isolated connections within the LINX infrastructure.

Closed User Group
Closed User Group enables members to establish a private, secure Layer 2 network connecting multiple sites, partners, or customers, facilitating controlled and efficient traffic exchange.
This service offers enhanced security, simplified management, and flexible scalability, all within LINX's trusted infrastructure.

DDoS Mitigation
LINX Protect is our free dedicated DDoS mitigation service, designed to help keep member networks secure and running smoothly. Available to all members peering via LINX route servers, it works by identifying and blocking malicious traffic during a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack.
By using Remotely Triggered Black Hole filtering, it diverts harmful traffic away from your infrastructure, minimising disruption, maintaining service availability, and safeguarding your network.

Why Connect at LINX Mombasa
LINX Mombasa is a key interconnection hub on Kenya’s coast, positioned at a major landing point for international subsea cables. As a standalone exchange not connected back to Nairobi or London, it keeps local traffic local — serving as the digital gateway for East Africa and a growing internet community across the region.
Digital gateway for East Africa
Mombasa’s strategic coastal location makes it the natural digital gateway for East Africa — serving not just Kenya but also Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and landlocked nations such as South Sudan.
Subsea cable landing point
LINX Mombasa is positioned at a major international subsea cable landing point, providing direct access to the undersea infrastructure that connects East Africa to the rest of the world.
Keep local traffic local
As a standalone exchange not connected back to LINX Nairobi or London, LINX Mombasa ensures traffic between local networks stays in the region — delivering efficient, low-latency interconnection.
100GE ready from day one
LINX Mombasa is built on a future-proof platform with 100GE capability from launch, ensuring members can scale their connectivity as the region’s digital economy continues to grow rapidly.
