After the first day of the LINX Meeting, LINX invite all attendees to join us at a pub or bar close by. We will have a range of drinks and food on offer free of charge to all attendees. To gain access to the social, you must be wearing your badge (collected at event reception prior to the social) and have your social ticket (attached to your badge) on hand ready to give to our team at the door.

Factors driving the African Internet Evolution – Lessons from Kenya	12:10	Internet expansion and the broader digital evolution in Africa are happening at a phenomenal rate. This presentation will look at the factors driving this evolution. We take the perspective that, “The next big thing is a lot of small things,” where the connectivity evolution in Africa is contingent on the emergence of many small operators. We will use Kenya as a lens to project this trajectory for the rest of the continent. In particular, we’ll unpack how the region is responding to an improved policy and regulatory environment. We will also look at how micro-entrepreneurship and the availability of electronic payments through mobile platforms are influencing digitization efforts across all sectors, and how this is fuelling the demand for affordable Internet access services, content hosting infrastructure and peering. Further, the presentation will also highlight emerging opportunities across the ecosystem. A digital gateway to Wales	13:40	As Ogi’s landmark trunk road network nears its first phase completion, we share how the new network of dark fibre and microduct products – spanning the Prince of Wales bridge passing through Vantage Datacentre and onto Cardiff – is set to bring new capacity, diversity and resilience into Wales for carriers, hyperscalers and service providers new to and already in the region.
