MEMBERSHIP

What your membership includes

Every LINX member pays a monthly membership fee. What you pay depends on where you connect.

The first 10GE port and the first service on a PeeringLAN with a speed of up to 4Gbps are included in the membership fee. That service can be a Peering Service, MAPS, Private VLAN or a Closed User Group service.

Any additional service, or any service with a bandwidth above 4Gbps, is charged according to the published fees below in addition to the membership fee.

Colocation allows your business to host your server in a third-party environment and share their bandwidth as your own. Moving your on-premises server into a data centre means that you can leave the time and cost of maintaining its environment to your colocation provider.

Our SLA is only available to members connected or wanting to connect to either LON1, LON2 or LINX Manchester. The below costs include both the monthly recurring fees for Peering Bandwidth and the additional cost of the SLA.

The LINX PI service offers a unique, fast, and simple way of establishing a dedicated connection between two LINX members. It provides a simple and cost-effective solution for members with significant individual traffic flows to other LINX members.

Our PI service is available at the following sites;

  • Telehouse North, North 2, East and West: £2000 per 8 pairs of fibre install, £500 Annual recurring
  • Digital Realty, Sovereign House: £3000 per 6 pairs of fibre install, £500 Annual recurring

Patching between members within the same building (Intrasite connection) can be requested through our NOC.

Each patch will be carried out as soon as possible from request and has a £100 install charge.

There is the option of an additional £400 one-off fee (£500 total) to expedite any PI patch requests within a 24-hour deadline.

This additional fee is to cover LINX’s costs of sending an engineer to the site for an unscheduled visit.

To enable private peering between Telehouse North, Telehouse North2, Telehouse East, and Telehouse West, a cross-connect is required between the LINX PI ODF in each site.

1 single-mode fibre pair between buildings:

  • Install: £1000
  • Annual recurring charge: £2400

Note that, as with all LINX services, the LINX PI Service may not be used as part of your backbone and is reserved for traffic between two members.

LINX offers reseller services and can connnect networks to Italy, NaMeX, Japan, JPIX and NYIIX in the US.

The LINX route server and time service facilities are both provided for members free of charge.

FREE

Members are able to pay for their LINX products and services via bank transfer, direct debit, and credit card.

In accordance with section 19.9 of the Membership Agreement, If you do not pay any fees by the relevant due date, LINX may charge interest on the overdue amount at a rate of 4% per annum above the Bank of England base rate (as published on the date of the original invoice). The interest will accrue on a daily basis from the original due date until LINX receives payment in full.

In accordance with section 19.6 of the Membership Agreement, If a payment fails and, as a result, LINX is charged additional fees by its bank or a payment processor, then LINX may charge you for those additional costs. If so, LINX will provide you with reasonable evidence of the costs at your request.
